Spending the Night in San Diego?
Make your reservation now at the Historic Lafayette Hotel Swim Club and Bungalows where the mini camp is being held. This newly renovated vintage beauty is BY FAR Jon's favorite hotel in Southern California. It has wonderful rates and facilities.
These two days of harpin' are worth traveling for and this IS the place to stay.
Plus, they are donating the space for the mini-Camp, so give 'em some love.
This is a historic place, perfect for the blues, with a world class heated Olympic sized swimming pool designed by Johnny Weismuller, near the Zoo and Gaslamp District at half the price of those soulless boxes with names like Marriot, Hilton and Omni.

Results of 2011 San Diego and Mississippi Charity Mini Camps
Jon's Blues Harmonica jam Camp is held 12 miles from where Sonny Boy Williamson is buried.
Part of the camp is visiting the great one's grave site. To get to this peaceful country field, one drives through the tiny town of Tutwiler, Mississippi. Jon and donors have been able to start a music program.
Last year, it was just a dream. Now it is a reality.
Sonny Boy Williamson is buried in a field about two miles from where these kids are getting introduced to drums, bass, guitar by three excellent teachers and players from Clarksdale, Mississippi. .The classes are three times weekly at the beautiful Tutwiler Educational Center and are the result of contributions of time and money from harmonica players, blues lovers and Sonny Boy Williamson afficiandos around the world.
What Should Beginner's Bring?
You need a good quality C diatonic harmonica as shown above for the 1pm fundamentals class. Along with locally owned music stores, we also recommend San Diego's own Rockin' Ron's Music4less online store. He may be online, and through the mail, but if you order today, your harp will almost always ship within 24 hours.l
Jon's Ventura 2nd Tuesday Harp Clubhouse
